16 types personality test
The 16 types come from the Myers-Briggs tradition: four either/or preferences, energy (I or E), information (S or N), decisions (F or T) and structure (P or J), combined into a four-letter type like INFJ or ESTP.
I get energy from being around a lot of people.
About this test
This version measures each preference as a scale, so your result shows how strongly you lean, and says honestly when a letter was a close call. It isn’t the official MBTI, which is a trademark of The Myers-Briggs Company, and the questions are our own.
Questions people ask
Is this the official MBTI?
No. The official Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a paid assessment from The Myers-Briggs Company. This is a free test built on the same four preferences, with our own questions.
Why did I get a different type last time?
It happens to a lot of people. If you’re near the middle on any of the four scales, a small change in how you answer flips the letter. That’s why this test shows the scales, not just the letters.
Which is better, 16 types or the Big Five?
For fun and conversation, types are easier to remember. For accuracy, the Big Five: it measures traits as scales and is what most personality research uses. Three of the four type scales line up with Big Five traits anyway.
