Introvert or extravert test
Introversion and extraversion describe where you get your energy: from time with people, or from time alone. It’s one of the most studied traits in psychology, and one of the most misunderstood.
I feel energised after spending time with a group of people.
About this test
Answer for how you usually are. You’ll see where you sit on the scale from introvert to extravert, including the large middle ground people call ambivert.
Questions people ask
Is it spelled extravert or extrovert?
Both are used. Psychologists usually write extravert; extrovert is more common in everyday use.
What is an ambivert?
Someone in the middle of the scale, who enjoys both company and time alone. Most people are closer to the middle than to either end.
Is introversion the same as shyness?
No. Shyness is anxiety about social judgement; introversion is about energy. You can be a confident introvert or a shy extravert.
