Picturing percentage growth as the same amount every year
It sounds like this
“10% a year on £1,000 is £100 a year, so after 30 years I'd have about £4,000.”
Why it’s wrong
It works out every year's growth on the first amount, so the growth on earlier growth — which becomes most of the total — never appears.
